Time and Texture

Chak Hin Leung

C2 Linocuts on Paper with 2 collagraphs
inside a moving clock

2026

In this project, I want to use human figures to represent both time and texture. I use an old woman figure and a child figure to represent the time. And texture being the skin texture on both figures. When I am doing the piece, I put lots of effort into showing the texture of both
fingers. I use more detail and wiggle lines to really show the texture on the old figure. On the
other side I use more organic and energetic lines when I am doing the child figure. I also
included a clock in the installation to represent the connection between both figures and the
theme of time. I printed 2 layers of collagraph hands inside the clock. The white one
represents the child and the black one represents the old woman..
