the BASEMENT Publication #08 “Caisleán” is an exploration of childhood wonder and adult adventures. The colorful illustrations highlight themes of addiction, isolation, religion, and mythology on a white layer that is chipping away to reveal the raw red brick underneath. This unconventional vessel opens up to hide secrets new and old, while comforting and reminding the opener of how chained we may become to our habits.
