At night, when vision fades and the world loses its sharp outlines, the senses begin to shift. Sound, touch, and memory come to the forefront, and the mind drifts. In this quiet space, thoughts move between what is real and what is imagined, searching for meaning in forms that are not clear.

Echoes of the Deep reflects this nighttime state of awareness. The sculpture evokes a submerged structure slowly shaped by the ocean. The dark gloss of the glaze and the clustered growths protruding represent non-specific marine growth in shadowed water, while the starfish is highlighted and appears less submerged, like a memory rising to the surface. The layered textures invite the viewer to explore the piece through touch, the way one might navigate the rocks of a tide pool in darkness.

Night blurs the boundary between memory and imagination. Just as the ocean holds life beneath its surface, the mind carries impressions that only surface when the world becomes quiet. This piece reflects this hidden depth, where experiences gather and evolve, echoing back in new forms when the senses awaken.
