watercolor & gouache on paper, trimmed to the dimensions of polaroids, 4.75"x 7" in
2026
I created this series during the start of my senior year of highschool, shortly after a close friend of mine passed away. In the months following, I would go about my day, and miss him. Ordinary scenery suddenly felt much emptier, as if missing a part I had become so familiar with. On those days, I decided to paint what I saw, how I felt. I chose polaroids as a frame, to mimic the nostalgic colors and the fleeting snapshot they give- as if it were friends passing around a camera.
