The flying creature hides a gaping wound on its underbelly. Some injuries heal on their own while others can be life-threatening if left to fester. This one is close to splitting the creature apart. 

Did it originate from an external attack or from within? Who knows, maybe another of its flock has a similar injury. Is it safer to hide or to expose one’s weaknesses?
