For this piece, I wanted to combine two supposedly contrasting areas of study—art and biology—to show that they can be compatible. I chose two of my favorite paintings, The Bat-Woman by Albert Joseph Penot and The Lovers II by Rene Magritte, and styled them to look like diagrams from antique medical textbooks. The Bat-Woman transforms into a study of the vascular system, and The Lovers II becomes a diagram of the skeletal system, with anatomically correct labels.
