Thinking back to my life fifteen years ago, I sometimes sigh that people always have to choose between having a childhood and feeling a childhood.
The painting is inspired by a song called Tomorrow Will Be Better. When I was a kid, this song celebrating the future and hope was often played in my school. I never paid too much attention to it, but as I become a young adult with a lot of worries amid a recession, I can't help but shed a tear every time I hear this song.
Tiny me standing in an abandoned shopping center where past and future, fantasy and reality meet. Will the tomorrow be better? I don't know, but time has only one direction: EXIT.
