Much of the artwork I produce inadvertently carries visual or conceptual motifs of my most inner world. Themes of melancholic nostalgia, isolation, sadness, escapism, and tranquil stillness find themselves as the primary focal points in my work. As we attempt to navigate our respective pasts, presents, and futures, we collect tokens of our emotions, observations, and interpretations. Art is certainly the subjective reaction and subsequent vehicle of those feelings. It is a form of kinetic energy itself, one that envelopes human interconnectedness through our seemingly individualized lives. The most beautiful thing about art is that it is both personal and universal.

In observing the world, I tend to be drawn to textures and colors. While my initial artistic inclinations lean towards ceramics (or anything of the 3D form), printmaking, and film photography, my interests have also evolved into other mediums like performance art and interactive installations. I frequently take inspiration from filmmakers such as Wes Anderson, Wong Kar-Wai, and Yasujirō Ozu in terms of stylistic choices, composition, and color usage in my photographs. My most recent conceptual interest is ‘adult play’ (i.e., living through self-satisfaction instead of external reward systems) and have been actively working to incorporate this theme in my works.
