Editor's Note:

Welcome to our third and final publication of the school year! This publication, Sunkissed, looks towards the summer while marking a transition for this site into the upcoming school year. Our senior editors and creators of this site, Lauren Higgins and Sebastion Rojas-Rincon, will be graduating at the end of this quarter; as the future editors of this publication, we will work our hardest to continue furthering the development of this creative space.

So in regards to their graduation, we would like to give a huge thank you to Lauren and Sebastian for creating this community for the School of Art students to share their works.

We will miss you, and we wish you luck in your future endeavors. We can't wait to see what you do!
And to all the artists: Stay connected with us! Check through our Instagram and website for the latest updates for the summer.

Misted

Editor's Note:

Welcome to our first publication of the school year! We are so excited to be back and running this incredible site. This publication, titled Misted, brings in the beginnings of the year, casting a vision for the future of this gallery. With our first ever in-person show, we are thrilled to see what this year has to offer in connecting further with artists within the UW School of Art.

With that in mind, we would like to extend a special thanks to Zoe Kackman, Hannah Ahn, Jadelyn Drake, and Madison Shimkus for bringing this site together. Our team has been incredibly helpful and driven in launching this publication and planning out the art show. We would not be here without their efforts towards the site; it has been so exciting to work with them.

In recognition of the immense work from our team and the artists that have submitted to Misted, thank you endlessly! See you soon!

Forget me (Not)

February 28th,2024

Representing the ways of which we become the spaces we occupy. Leaning into an embrace, following existing footsteps in the frost, smudging handprints on glass, lingering on places we are and places we are not. In our daily interactions with the world, we run into traces and imprints of people we have never met and similarly, we leave an unconscious record of ourselves. Forget me (not) comes from a question of what it means to be defined by a space and our lingering presence in people we don’t know. In our habitual routines and fleeting memories of places and people we hold on to, we become an extension of ourselves built from moments that no longer exist.

What I hold, What we hold:
Political Art as Resistance

February 28th,2024

The weight of continuous collective grief, the hope harbored for the future, and the persistent dedication to pressing issues is held by many. What I hold, what we hold: Political Art as Resistance prompts you to place that weight into artistic activism; How do you challenge the status quo? How do we use art in an act of resistance, identity, and organizing?
